My Seagate Expansion 1tb is not working. Further information is that the light turns on, makes what seems to be an attempt to run the fan and fail, and then does nothing but the light stays on. I have tried to 1) Use a different computer 2) Use a different cable 3) Connect to wall outlet briefly 4) swap SATA ports with another functioning hard drive 5) Run data retrieval software. None have worked and my Macbook Pro does not recognize that it is connected except in System Information where it gives zero to no detail besides the name of the company, Seagate, and title, Expansion.

If it's in warranty, contact Seagate. If not in warranty, remove the drive from the case and see if it's readable directly on a computer or in another case.
