Hey people,

I have recently built a new system, it has a Corsair RM750X power supply in it (I actually chose this one based mainly on the review on this site). It works fine, my system is stable, however it is making a high pitched, vibrant noise, particularly when the system is under load, CPU or GPU alike. It is also audible intermittently when the comp is idling. The severity of the noise scales with the amount of load the computer is under. It gets annoyingly intense when I'm running a game for example.

I have already read a lot trying to figure out what is wrong, so I know all about coil whine for instance. Up to today, I believed that or that of sorts was the culprit but last hour I noticed something very strange: I have a secondary PC in the house (it is plugged into an outlet being on the same circuit in the apartment as my new build), consisting mostly of my old system's components, and whenever I put my new PC under load to have it produce the noise, the other PC starts to make the exact same sound with more or less the same intensity, even when it's idling. Vica versa it doesn't seem to be the case. In both cases the noise seems to be originating from the power outlet of the PSUs.

What do you suggest I do to get a grip on this? I tried plugging out everything but my new PC on this circuit but that did not get rid of the noise. Is it a necessary troubleshooting step to test the PC on the other circuit of the house?

I found a link on Corsair forums; this is the sound I have to put up with:

Thanks a lot for your help in advance.
