Hey there guys!
So i'm planning to upgrade my current 10 year old system with a g4560,8 gigs of ram and b250 mobo. I currently have a 8800 gts 512 which i'm planning to use until i get my new gpu.
I know it's a huge bottleneck but my question is; Will it be compatible with a 7th gen cpu? Or will my pc won't even startup? Thanks.

Solution
Yeah, you'll be able to use it, it should be better than the onboard graphics that the CPUs would provide.

but I'd suggest this?

the B250 motherboards cost a bit more money, why don't you look into an i3-6100 with a b150 motherboard (save money on motherboard and put it forward to the CPU)

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i3-6100 3.7GHz Dual-Core Processor ($108.87 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: MSI B150M BAZOOKA Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($41.98 @ Newegg)
Total: $150.85
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Well in Greece the i3 6100 costs 120€ and b150 about 50 €
But a b250(gigabyte) costs 90 € and g4560 60€
Thanks for the answer!
