Hi Everyone,

I have recently had to replace my motherboard so therefore need to re-do my overclock. cant remember any of the voltages so will basically start from scratch.

I have never really researched what are the best stress testing software and would like some advice.

The only thing I use my pc for is gaming and general everyday tasks. My pc is never on 24/7 and i dont do any kind of editing or video encoding etc.

I also work so even when I game it isnt for long periods of time.

So my CPU is never really put under any heavy load so my questions are what is the best stress software for a gaming rig and how long do i need to run it for?

Rig:
MSI X99 Gaming Pro Carbon mobo
i7 5820k with H100i GTX AIO Cooler
16GB ddr4 @ 2133 (will OC this a little as well)
GTX 1080s in SLI
Corsair RM1000x PSU

AIDA64 is rubbish, no where near stressful enough, I can pass AIDA64 stress test 16 hour run, and then fail everything else I throw at my computer within 2 mins, I just use it for temp monitoring and volatge moniotring.

Use IBT (Intel Burn in Test) 50 passes, standard settings for initial stability, takes about 10 mins to run, if you pass this you can raise your overclock a little more then test again.

Once your comfortable with your final overclock, switch IBT to max settings, this will test all your ram too, set for 25 passes, this will take a few hours to run (3 or 4), if this passes you are pretty much stable, make sure you monitor your temps, but just to be sure I then run the...

For reallife stress test I use Realbench stress test, 8 hours to run.

finally I run Prime95 overnight for about 8-9 hours.

and if I can be bothered OCCT.

Gamning etc after that will let you know of any problems
