Hey guys , I had to mix different rams since the current pair i own (2x4) isnt sold anymore, so i got another set of 2x4 , so in order to determine if my system is totally stable which tests i have to run in memtest86 ( do i need to test my first original rams aswell since I'm sure they are not faulty - have been using my pc without issue for 3 years) and for how much time to run the tests?
like how many passes to run to be quite sure that my new ram is behaving well with the old one :3

Solution
memtest86 is the de-facto memory test.
it will test the entire pool of memory that is plugged in as one unit. memtest will only see 16GB of ram and proceed in testing.
any timing faults that prevent the memory from running as one will be reported as errors or will reboot the system.

if errors pop up you can test each stick singly by only having it plugged in and testing, pairs can be tests in pairs, etc.
if memtest runs all night and has gone through several passes then you got good ram. if in the morning it is on the first pass or lower then system has been rebooting all night. assuming it reboots to memtest.

YES. you need to test all sticks if you wish to use all sticks. you need to make sure that the memory will work together without problems and the only way to do this is to test them all and see if they play nice together.
two passes should tell you. if you really want to be sure set it up and let it run while you sleep.

yes i wish to use all sticks , but if i may ask another question since i dont actually now how memtest works( havent used it in a long time) is there like an option to test all the sticks at once or by saying to test all sticks you mean to test each one alone ?
***an other question let's say it passes all the tests overnight can now I sleep in peace knowing that in real time situation I have got a good compatible ram ? ... or memtest isnt enough of a proof ?
