Possible LAN Port or Cable Failure?

Ok first time posting here about an issue hopefully one of you may know.

Current modem is a ZyXEL C1100Z brand new we bought hoping would fix our issues.

So recently our internet has been dropping constantly lasts for a little bit and then it's out and back and depending on it just the internet light goes out or both that and the DSL. We had our ISP send out a tech to check for us plugged into the DSL and sat and watched our line it was all clear interestingly when our phone is on like while you would be talking to someone and then hang up it shoots about 20,000 or more CRC errors into the modem and causes a retrain or just those drops in general.

We've disconnected our phone for the time being to see if that has fixed the issue lasted but a few hours and I'm on the ride again. I'm plugged into our modem using CAT6 unshielded that we've ran under the house but never attached it to anything so I'm assuming it isn't compromised but will hopefully test tomorrow. Should also mention I inspected the connector ends and they seem to be fine.

What is confusing me is that from another post I saw a suggestion of resetting the BIOS by switching the jumpers on the CMOS real quick and then back to default. It held with almost no errors for maybe an hour and then smacked it with about 9000 all at once instant down.
Could this be the LAN failing and I should RMA my mobo or just get a NIC for cheap and see if that fixes assuming the cable isn't the issue.

Would appreciate responses sorry for long post.

If you are seeing the DSL light change you have a issue with your internet connection. It is not related to your PC so do not mess with it.

Your best bet is to try to run a cable directly to the phone demark location to connect to your modem. Most time this is a box either inside or outside on the side of the house that generally has a phone jack you can plug into. You want to run just the modem to this with nothing else connected. This pretty much eliminates your house wiring as the cause.....this is one of most common causes of that problem. If it still does it connected like that it is time to call the ISP because there likely is some issue with the wiring outside your house.

There is a slim possibility it it is the modem...

There is a slim possibility it it is the modem but that is not a common cause especially since you tried a new one.
