Hi there,

I am facing heating problems with my laptop. I have a HP EliteBook 8470w. It begins overheating when I'm in CS:GO for like 15 minutes and then it shuts down. I have tried putting the maximum processor usage to 60% and even lower but it won't help. I believe the GPU is overheating not CPU. However I have ordered an external cooling pad but I'm not sure if it'll help. What do you guys think? What else should I do?

Firstly, I would make sure that your laptop air intake is clean and unobstructed. Never, for example, place a laptop on your bed covers; it is always best to have it on a hard surface.

With laptops in the past, I got one of these and it was amazing, much better than a cooling pad. It creates a suction around your hot air output and draws the hot air out.: http://ebay.eu/2oXGuVp
