Pc won't work after cmos reset

I know this thread is somewhere on here but the ones I found are from 2008. Also I don't think over clocking is the correct catagory but it's the closest I can think of

I cleared my CMOS using the pins and since then nothing has worked .. peripherals no display .. the drives spin up and all fans work, I've tried breadboarding the motherboard by booting on with no ram or GPU..I want to stress that I removed power before I did it but not the battery as I didn't think you had to, afterwords I removed the battery for about 30mins and plugged it back in and still no joy.

Specs that I can member
Mb gigabyte ga 78lmt S2 (rev1.2)
CPU and fx 8320? It's an 8 core one
GPU asus gtx 770
Ram is balisticX sport 16gb
And a Corsair cx600m

I've had this pc over 2 years I built it myself as my first ever build and had no problems, the only reason I reset CMOS is because I tried to over lock but got a boot message saying the mb couldn't handle it so it was under clocking the system

Take out the battery to the motherboard for 10 seconds, place it back in the slot, then reset cmos. Please make sure everything is unplugged when doing this and try to avoid taking it apart on carpet.

I've tried that.. I've gone back to breadboarding .. everything is out of the case I have a test setup on the case switches and a mb speaker.. no Beebs with or without ram in every configuration... I don't see it being PSU cos the whole system worked fine this morning I just wanted to reset bios so it wasn't underclocking. I'm guessing it just toasted the mb I'm going to leave the battery out for a few hours before putting it back in.

I would check my 2 x 4 pin and 24 pin connections. If a flux is laying around i would check the power the psu is putting out.

One more idea! Try and replace the battery, just recently I had the same trouble and it was my motherboard battery that died.

Battery ordered just incase, and by check the PSU connections do you mean inspect or actually check voltage as I don't have tools for that, like I said tho it was working perfectly this morning.

I thought of another problem. The past few days my pc has been crashing when playing games I chalked it down to overheating so I cleaned out the fans and rad this morning of dust .. there was a lot in there.. I did the CMOS reset at the same time.. however I'm now wondering if it was my PSU that was causing my pc to crash/reboot

Was the psu making strange noises? Also did you move the CMOS pin back to its default location and make sure all connections from the psu to the motherboard are secure too.

No strange noises just black screen and reboot,I don't mind much as it takes about 30 to boot and 1 Mon to rejoin a game so It was more of an inconvenience. And there are only 2 pins on my motherboard just have to short them together?

Sorry I should have looked at the manual for your motherboard before asking if you put the jumper back. On some mother boards there is a jumper for 3 pins that change how the computer starts up.

The balck screen sounds like it is your video card, either a the card was over heating, or it was overclocked and was not stable.

Video card seems fine I've never over locked it or had a problem with it in the past.. it's never even got hotter than 30 degrees Celsius so fans hardly ever spool up to max, my CPU hasn't got past that either everything is normally cool just today when I cleaned the rad the rad itself was hot
