This must have been due to a drop. I opened up the disk and connected it directly to the Motherboard using the SATA and power cables.
Opened up the case to see if there is anything stuck
Looks like the disk rotation and heads are moving fine, except the noise.

The disk is not recognized even in the BIOS; it get stuck for a while during hardware init, before BIOS timesout and starts booting.

Any suggestions? Or is this gone for good?

Solution
Sorry mate, but unfortunately it wont be of any use now.!
Only if you have some extremely Important data on the drive you can pay a visit to local hardware shop and get it fixed(rare chances though)
You'll hav to find another damaged drive with good working reader so the person will replace the Reader/Header and it will be fixed temporarily.
The HDD wont be that durable though.
