Best air CPU cooler

How about something that has a thicker heatsink tower, the same cooling capacity, and is cheaper? The best part, it's by the same company.

Thanks

The problem is, where I live, I need international shipping and not all sellers/items are deliverable internationally (at least not for sensible prices). The cooler you recommended, with shipping, is $114 which definately is not good.

Thanks

This cooler does ship to where I live and is for $48, nice!!

The only disadvantage, which I guess can be ignored, is that the fan is white and I am going for a mostly black setup.

The best air cooler would be the Noctua NH-D15 but that runs about $75. Under $50, I'd favor various Scythe coolers in that cost category as well as the Cryorig H5 ... which is not in "the same" performance category as the H7, the latter being both louder and less efficient in cooling.

Honestly speaking, the H7 isn't as good as the H5 Universal but it will still do the job, at least if you're only overclocking slightly as you mentioned.

Thanks

Now COME ON! One person is like "this cooler is best", other person is like "that cooler is best". I definately appreciate all the support I am getting but you know, when the options get too much, you just sit there not knowing what to do

The H7 will do the job pretty much just as well, it'll just run the fan faster.

You guys are right that my recommendation is not as efficient, but it's almost just as capable and is much cheaper.

But as I mentioned, the H5 doesn't deliver to my country which is quite a problem.

I confused the comments, sorry. I thought you posted about the H7. If you're buying online, please link the site.

The h7 is absolutely fine , the difference between the h7 & h5 is the h7 is a 120mm cooler & the h5 is 140mm

The h5 is better but not to the extent you'd pay twice as much for it.

That said the gammaxx 400 deserves serious consideration , its likely available in your own country & is likely to be a lot cheaper than the cryorigs.

It'll handle big overclocking on a sky/kaby i5 should that be something you want to do.

I added the link to the product.

I live in the UAE and getting from Amazon cuz it is the cheapest lol.

I think you should just stick with the h7 if stock & delivery is an issue.

Its a very good cooler , its not going to struggle with a 7600k, it has zero ram interference, easy to fit , fairly low height.

Its better than any of your original choices on the first post.

I might be able to wait until the H5 is back in stock then get it.

Your options are ... a) look at what folks say (not recommended), b) or you could ask them to document their reasoning or c) you could do the research yourself (aka google the ones listed).

CPU_OC_typical_b.gif

On our builds, the most popular air cooler users choose is the Phanteks PH-TC14PE. IT was a much more logical choice when we could get them for $55 ... it was as good as the Noctua NH-D14 tho the D15 edges it by a degree or so depending on the test and it's quiet . However, the Noc is particularly fugly ... and frankly most coolers pay little attention to aesthetics. The Phanteks heat sink is available in numerous color schemes, with fans also dyed and you can therefore match the color to match your case color or system accents. And Phanteks has the best fans on the market ... take a Noctua cooler and replace the fans with phanteks and the temps drop 6C at the same rpm.

As for the H5 / H7 ... when a user asks us which one when doing the build, we recommend the H5 ... I don't really care about it's any of the physical particulars and what fan is there, to my eyes zzzzz9and ears) the extra cooling and lower noise are worth the $11 investment ($35 - $46). Of course depending on where you live ... YMMV.

So yes, the forums here can point you in the right direction ... but I'd be disappointed if you blindly took my advice without "checking / verifying" readily available performance data on your own.

If you can't find the H7 then the H5 is the way to go, otherwise I wouldn't go for it tbh. Since you're not looking to overclock big the H7 will be enough.
