Hi, I have a desktop with Windows 10 pre-installed and I don't like it. I'm trying to swap out the hard drive with a new one and install 8.1 instead. So far I've tried to do this via a copy of 8.1 Pro full retail from Ebay, but I ended up with a non-legitimate copy (the key is blocked). Will the following increase my chances of success?
1. Get a copy of Windows 8 OEM System Builder instead (of course I'm assuming this version is less likely to be counterfeit)
2. Update to 8.1
Alternatively, is there a better channel that might still have legitimate copies of 8.1 retail? Thanks.
