So, after many hours of searching threads from multiple sites, including here... I am clueless as to what I should try next. When trying to do a fresh install of windows off of a USB I continuously get this error message. I have tried hitting cancel and switching the ports as many people have suggested. I have tried putting my solid states drivers on the USB, as well as my motherboards drivers. My motherboard is the ASUS Strix Z270F , and therefore I do not have any USB 2.0 ports to use.. I have tried tweaking settings in my BIOS but I do not know it well enough to know exactly what everything does. At this point the only thing I can think of trying is going out and buying a new Windows disk because I'm becoming convinced it is because my motherboard only has USB 3.0 ports on it.. If anyone has any ideas it would be really appreciated as I don't want to go drop $100 on a new Windows installation disk.

I can't believe I forgot to put that, yes it is. I finally figured it out though. I was looking around in the BIOS one last time before I went away to do other stuff and it turns out that it was the SATA Mode Selection. I had to change it from "AHCI" to the "Intel RST Premium With Intel Optane System Acceleration (RAID)"
After doing that, it installed just fine.......

Now this question might be stupid, but after installation completed and it restarted, it's looping back to the install screen. Do I unplug the USB? I have tried changing the boot priority to boot off the SSD instead of the USB too...
Lol.. questioned too soon, removing the USB did it..
