The first time I used a PC I was maybe 8 years old, playing Starcraft. I used to watch my dad play it for at least a year, perhaps 2 before he allowed me to try it out. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I've loved PC gaming ever since. I never had a proper PC to game on, and obviously as a kid I couldn't ask my parents for such a thing. But as many kids did, I had a console. Now, 23, I decided to take up on it. Found Paul's YouTube videos and they were a great help to start up. I came to the forums today hoping for some insight and advice on whether my build could be good or and if it needs tweaking. Obviously I'd love to have the money to build a $3000+ pc but I don't have a lot of money to play with and if like something "simple" that can do what I need and that's gaming, recording, and maybe streaming. I'll include a PCpartpicker link below. My limit is $1000 but im not trying to use $1000. If it can be cheaper that's what ill go for. Its my first time and I'd love to be able to do it right, I'm new to it so please keep that in mind. (I know OEM is cheaper, especially from kenguin, but I'm not skilled enough to repair any problems that MAY occur, so I would rather be able to have help from Microsoft in the future if that ever happens.)

WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW is if this build would work. Is it capable of gaming? Later on ill upgrade it and make it better, but for now this is what I want.
And can this be overclocked?
P.S. I only ordered the case, (link to case)

And 1 set of the case fans and the cooler.

cannot be overclocked . the i5 7500 is a locked processor . for overclocking you require a K version cpu such as the i5 7600k

edit: also you do not require an aftermarket cooler if you go with your current build .

edit 2 : this power supply would better suit your needs https://pcpartpicker.com/product/qYTrxr/evga-power-supply-220g20550y1

Few changes:
1500X - 4C/8T, overclockable.
X370 - chipset for overclocking
RX580 8GB instead of RX480 4GB
Better PSU
Faster RAM

Stock cooler is pretty good, even for overclocking,

This build will play all games, although a few would require tweaking with the settings.

Shouldve mentioned I want some red LEDs in the case so that's why I bought the cooler, the one I got isn't available to place in the list. Same model but with LEDs.
ALSO, is the gigabyte motherboard not capable of overclocking? I kind of like the look..

you'll be better to go with AMD ryzen r5 if you plan to do a lot of live streaming . those extra cores and threads will come in very handy .

depending on the game there is a small difference in favour of intel but then you have the extra cores and threads to take on the work for streaming with the ryzen r6 1600 or 1600x

Those games will be no problem to the AMD processors, my or the other AMD build will be perfect.
Also, getting a 7600k with a cooler gets you close to the price of the 7700 and that will perform better than the 7600K.
Taking one of the AMD options is better, because they don't require an aftermarket cooler, they're 60W CPU's boasting a 90W cooler, it will be good enough even if overclocking them.

I also suggest you buy an SSD, 250GB or higher, Samsung 850 EVO 250GB, or Cruicial MX300.
The Samsung is faster, but if you decide to go for the 500GB version, the Cruicial is cheaper.

Fine you convinced me lol but I had to change the motherboard :( I really liked the gigabyte. Oh well. Went with one I saw on one of Paul's videos that goes well with the red and black theme I have going. Asus B350 Plus

for the average person the b350 is absolutely fine for overclocking . it is only really worth considering the x370 boards if you're going to be wanting absolute total control over voltage settings and require a SLI enabled motherboard . i wouldn't recommend going for the x370 to a newbie builder unless they are experienced overclockers who wish to push every last bit out of their cpu.
