Hi all,

I purchased my new card this weekend - instlaled it and everything seemed fine until I started trying to play games. EVERY game I play crashes about 10-20 min into gameplay. Games that were running fine on my system with my old Radeon HD6670 just freeze - even games that don't require a lot of graphics processing power (eg: Lego City Undercover). The card is not overheating - it never seems to get more than 62 degrees. I've tried scaling back the graphics settings, but it does the exact same thing.

Current system is:
AMD A10-7850K running at 4.2 Ghz
Asus A88x-Gamer M/B
8GB HyperX FURY (2 x 4 GB) RAM
550 Watt PSU (unsure of the brand)

Any help would be appreciated as this is starting to get me down. Getting a new card is supposed to be a good thing, not cause so much confusion.

Use the nvidia control panel to make sure all drivers are up to date. I would also do the same for all my drivers on the computer.

All drivers are up to date
v381.89 dated 25/04 is the latest I could find for the gfx card (and were installed when I first installed the card)

v8.0.915.0&8.0.916 for the M/B and chipset

What is really frustrating is that it works perfectly for a few minutes, I can even run Precision XOC's OSD and it shows that the card is running way within normal parameters. I'm not trying to overclock the card myself, just what EVGA have done to make it a "superclocked" card.

So I managed to extend my play time to about 30 - 45 min. I checked in my case, and found that I actually had a 6-pin connector directly off my PSU. When I first installed the card, I used the provided Molex to 6-pin adaptor, without checking my actual PSU cabling. Changing to this connector has extended the amount of time I can play games without the crash occurring, but it still eventually crashes.

Precision XOC's OSD still doesn't show any kind of spike or large increase in GPU activity before the crash happens - running Andromeda it's power drain is fluctuating between 30% to about 60% sometimes spikes into the 70's, but still haven;t seen it hit anything higher. Temp stays constant at about 45 degrees, and clock speeds and memory speeds are measuring at 2000mHz and 4007mHz respectively.

The fact that the change to the connector to the PSU seems to indicate that it could be the PSU, but once again - why would it work for a while and then just crash?

I'm not overclocking anything at all - everything is set to factory default

I will be a bit pee'd off if I need to downclock my brand new graphics card below what the factory spec is - what would be the point in getting the new card?

I'll give this a shot - I've had the priority set to 100% power rather than using the priority to the temp. But Precision X when playing the games shows the temps around 40 to 45 degrees and has only ever hit 62 degrees once when trying out Wildlands.
