Does an appropriate Graphics Card for my situation exist?

I'll start by saying that I'm saving up the cash to build a decent entry-level gaming PC, but realistically it's going to be a while before I get the money together. I desperately want to get into PC Gaming, and have spent hours upon hours researching and learning as much as I possibly can to make sure that, when the time comes, I build a capable PC for a good price. I will find my own answers over time to the questions I have, and will have, about the new rig i want to build. That is not what this question is about, and I wanted to clear that up from the start.

So, right now I'm using a 6 year old Dell Optiplex 780 that was given to me for free. I'm not fooling myself into thinking that I can upgrade this thing into an awesome PC for intensive games, hence why I mentioned that i'm working towards building my first real rig from scratch. I just want to be able to play some of the older, less-intensive games that I believe i would enjoy (Check bottom of post) without cranking the settings as Low as they possibly get to salvage 20-25 FPS, and sometimes lower. Here are the specs to my particular Optiplex 780. (It's the Desktop version, by the way. Not the mini-tower):

-Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 @ 3.16 GHz
-8 GB DDR3 (RAM)
-1 TB HDD
-Intel(R) Q45/Q43 Express Chipset

From my own research, it seems that the E8500 can handle most of the games that I would be throwing at it, as (like I said before) I don't intend to even attempt to play anything new or too taxing, and obviously 8GB of RAM is enough for most games in general. The sole reason that I can't even play old games on low settings without fps problems is the integrated chipset graphics card, that seems to be complete shit in comparison to even low-end dedicated graphics cards. I don't want to spend 200 bucks replacing the CPU, Power Supply (Which I believe to be 255w, please let me know if I am wrong about that.) and buying a new graphics card. I want to know if there is a card, compatible with my CPU and are offered in low-profile as to fit in the "DT" case of the Optiplex, that I can buy that will allow me to run games up to 3 or 4 years old without the settings dropped to the floor, and smoothly. I'm not looking for 70 FPS, because I know, to an extent, what I'm asking here. A steady 30-35 without drops to 15 would make me giggle like an excited schoolgirl. If you guys have any idea, or need any additional information from me to check it out, please respond.

*From looking around for this question previously asked I have seen people list a few possibilities that may apply to my PC as well. The two that I am considering are the GT 710, and the GT 440. Please let me know if either of those would perform well enough for me to enjoy some of the below-mentioned games, and have a smooth PC experience until I am able to afford the new build.

Games I would really love to play in the near future:

-Dishonored
-Bioshock : Infinite
-Farcry 3
-Dead Space 3
-Mass Effect 3: Citadel

I already play League of Legends, and I get about 45 fps on it, but my settings are all slammed down to the very lowest possibility in order for that to happen.

I also play TF2, and likewise my settings are all at the lowest option, and i've even added a few mods like matphong 0 and hatless to enhance performance. I still barely get 20 FPS during combat, and sometimes less than 15.

Thank you guys, sorry for the long post. Looking forward to picking some of your brains to find out if this is a possibility or even worth trying to do.

TL;DR : Dell Optiplex 780, 3.16GHz processor, 8GB RAM, shitty Q45 chipset integrated graphics. Desktop tower size, 255w PSU (I think). Are there any halfway decent graphics cards that I could buy for cheap (willing to buy used) to have a smooth experience on some less-intensive PC games in the meantime until I build my first real gaming rig?

I do not know a lot about old hardware but i need more info on that psu, do you have any additional details? Brand/name. If it is really 225w then maybe a gt 1030, a gtx 1050 requires a minimum of 300w but depends on the quality of the PSU.

Is there any way for me to check the PSU without opening the case? I only think it's 255w because that's what it seems the Desktop version of the 780 is. However i'm thinking this one is refurbished anyway. And On CPU-Z tit says the motherboard's model number is 03NVJ6 and then A01. Not sure if that helps. Yes single slot I am led to believe.

Here's the GPU I'm really hoping would work, seeing as people with almost my exact system have reported success with it.

***EDIT: After googling that model number, it seems like it's actually an SFF model. Looked at the pictures again, I was mistaken. It is SFF not Desktop.

Well seeing as how Anything I spend on it will be taken away from my parts for the one I'm saving for, I'd really like to get one as cheap as possible that will still improve performance. Let's say $50. Maybe a little more if that's not possible, but I really don't want to go much higher if I can help it. Like I said, I will buy used.

what about the gtx 1050 asus dual? doesnt need a power cable and is powered directly from pci slot.

And it wouldn't cause bottlenecking with the E8500? Just curious, I'm just recently researching any of this stuff.

you'd never get one for $50 anyway

Yeah I noticed that. I googled it after you replied. I know i'm being hella cheap, man, but this is really just me trying to keep my ass at home while i'm saving for the big rig. Haha. Thanks for the suggestion though!

i tried this site, couldnt find your cpu though so i used the one at very bottom. It said a 6% bottleneck due to the RAM though, no bottleneck between cpu and gpu. but again i used a better CPU so this is false. you most likely will get a botteneck but personally i dont know how much. i will need to research more.
