Hi,

I would like to know what can happen if I disable the ''turn off hard disk after..'' time option in.Power Options and set it to never?

Could it cause overheating of the HDD?

Please tell me!
Thanks in advance!
Best regards!

Absolutely nothing except that the disk will spin more when idle. Mine is actually turned off on my laptop with a SSD because when it tries to put the drive into 'sleep mode', it doesn't wake back up.

Head activity is usually what heats up a drive the most; not just spinning.

Wait, your PC/Laptop wont turn on again after the hard drive went to sleep mode? If thats the case then i think that would be the solution to the problem that causes my computer to not wake back up after going to some sort of 'sleep mode'
