Windows 95 to Windows 7

Ok so on my laptop which is a micronpc.com laptop the bios date is 12/1/1999 lol but i had it at xp and was so slow i formatted the drive. Well i have a blank 10gb hard drive and i have went into the bios to set it up to boot from the iso on my usb but i doesnt want to keeps saying no OS on it and i have used rufus and yumi to format the usb and put windows 7 iso on there its only 3 gb. please help on imaging this laptop.

Hello... 1) You need to click the BOX "add ??? Dos system" to the USB2 stick first... Did you do that?

2) But I 'don't think the 10Gb Hardrive is Big enough to install the Win7 OS. B /

@ironsounds is that on Rufus or Yumi ISO installer application?

Hello... In the rufus "Format" command for the USB 2 stick... also format it with FAT32 file system OK?

1) format Fat32 and add Dos to it...
2) you now have a Bootable USB2 stick...
3) add any other DOS apps, files and utilities to it after that B )

I have never seen a laptop of that vintage that could boot from USB. Those were the days of USB 1.1 intended for mice and keyboards, not flash drives.

If the laptop has a CD drive you can use it to boot a more suitable OS like Puppy Linux. Windows 7 obviously requires a DVD drive but would be even worse than XP at ~512MB RAM.

Hello... Good point.... but will need a DVD drive... if a USB1 stick won't work then Burning ISO to DVD is the next option. B /
