i have
intel dh61bf motherboard
intel i7-2600 chip
zotac geforce gtx 760ti
12 GB ddr3 ram (8gb corsair vegeance +4GB Spectek INC)
2 Tb HDD

BAsically...the screen freezes but the mouse still moves.. usually happens just 5 mins after starting a game (DOTA 2 or Withcher 3)
i had this problem before and the fix was removing one of the rams...
before i had two spectek 4GB ddr3....by removing on of them and switching the modules between DIMM slots it worked...so i thought one of the ram was faulty. so i ordered the new corsair vengeance 8gb...and agian the problem has arisen. the obvious answer would be that the DIMM slot is faulty but ive swapped the modules and dimm slots in all possible combinations. the combination i havent tried is the single previously working single spectek 4GB which i know should work. the hdd is relatively new was bought approx 6 months ago. there shouldnt be any problem with the new ram module. i have quick heal anti virus and there are no errors in the full system scan
the games were working fine with a single spectek 4gb ram. but with the new ram its hanging. i needed a larger size of ram cause Withcer 3 cant be run on fucking 4 gb ram. Now i HAve no clue what to do.. cause i spent my monthly money on a new ram...(im a student so i dont have infinte resources)

my computer is very weird...what i did was reapply the therma compound because the cpu temp were reaching 85 degrees...and blew out dust from the DIMM Slots and the fans ...which i do nearly every one and a half months. the coputer worked fine for a couple of hours then got hanged. i hard reboot the pc...and it automatically went into chkdsk(which it had done before as well)...but this time deleted and restored a lot of directory entry. i dont fully understand what happened...but it works for now...but im sure this problem will happen again,,,so i really request you to get deep nto the issue. the issue is not the DIMM slots cause they are working properly right now.
Maybe the Issue is that i have a stock cooler on my chipset. though the pc is not overclocked or anything.

Thank you for the quick reply :)
