Masters, I am confused, need your expertise ASAP!
Getting a new build, already purchased Msi RX580 Gaming X 8G GPU & Thermaltake 600W PSU.

For processor, I gravitate towards the Ryzen 5 1600 3.20Ghz 6 Core or perhaps the Ryzen 5 1600X 3.60Ghz 6 Core. Which one is better value?
Or is it worth paying way extra for the 8 core Ryzen 7 1700 3.70Ghz?
If I buy Ryzen 7 1700 3.70Ghz, I might have to bump down Ram to 8G to stay on budget.

I am looking at
Ryzen 5 1600 3.20Ghz 6 Core or Ryzen 5 1600X 3.60Ghz 6 Core + 16G Ram
VS
Ryzen 7 1700 3.70Ghz + 8G Ram

Besides using the pc for gaming, I also tinker with 3D modelling/rendering & digital painting, and maybe VR in the future when headset prices become more reasonable.

Is there a noticeable difference between Value Ram & High Performance Ram
1) Kingston/Crucial Value Ram D4 2133Mhz 16GB
2) Kingston Hyper X D4 FURY 2133Mhz 16GB

Is it worth paying extra for High Performance Ram?
And indeed what about Gaming Ram?
It's good for gaming obviously, but for other applications?
Is Avexir Gaming Ram D4 Core 2400MHz (2x) 16G a good buy?
It's currently cheaper than the two above.

The following AM4 motherboards are available but I am undecided:
Asus Prime B350-Plus
Asrock AB350 Pro4
Gigabyte AB350-GAMING 3
Gigabyte AB350M-DS2
Gigabyte AB350M-GAMING 3
Msi B350M Gaming Pro
Msi B350M Mortar
Msi B350 Tomahawk

What's the difference between AB350 & B350 boards?
Is Asrock AB350 Pro4 a good choice?
Or perhaps the Asus Prime B350-Plus or Gigabyte AB350-GAMING 3?
I read about stability issues with the new AM4 boards, should I be concerned about buying these boards?
Or wait (for how long?) for later improved models?
Or perhaps just go for Core i5-7600 3.40Ghz 4 Core & the plethora of Intel boards, but I read
Ryzen is better for faster 3D rendering with its extra cores/hyperthreading etc.

Any advice is much appreciated, thanks.

Solution
Go for the ryzen 1600 non x. Far better value.
Asrock b350 pro 4 is a superb board (own one myself)
The pro 4 & fatality are virtually identical component wise , vrm setup is exactly the same.

Ram ?? What are the prices on the kits you've looked at ??

I had crucial ballistix sport running at 2933 but it was unstable , now running at 2666 no issues .
Bear in mind my ram is only 2400 rated so that 2933 instability was probably down to heavy overclocking.

Hands down for a gaming setup the 1600 is the best choice, it ocs to above 1600x speeds even on the stock cooler. High speed (3000/3200mhz) memory is very important on ryzen you can use the savings on the 1600 to pay the premium for the faster ram. I like the tomahawk and mortar for the ram performance from what I've seen lately.

O Grandmaster, are you are saying I should get something like
Save $ by getting Ryzen 5 1600 3.20Ghz
Spend the savings on pricier
Msi B350 Tomahawk
&
Avexir D4 Blitz 3000MHz (2x) or Avexir D4 Raiden 3000Mhz C16 (2x/4x)
which will give me outstanding combination with OC on the Ryzen 5 1600?

The Ram has different classes C11, C13, C15, C16, I'm assuming higher number is faster?
You say this is best choice for a gaming setup, but I also plan to 3D model/render on the side,
will this setup be best choice/value for the buck also?
BTW never OC before, will my 600W PSU be sufficient, will I need to tinker about with different settings/voltage etc
which I would rather leave to the pros.

Actually cl stands for cas latency so the lower the number the better. And yes that was what I was saying. Ryzen is basically 2 4 core CPUs on one die when data crosses between "cpus" the transfer speed is tied to ram speed. That's why with ryzen ram speed is critical, yet almost pointless with Intel.

The supply should be fine as long as it's a decent quality supply. And a comparable Intel build would require a $450 cpu and $200 motherboard and not beat it by much if any in many tasks

So overclocking Ryzen 5 1600 is as easy as selecting a few buttons in the supplied software and bang boom it's on overdrive?
Should I get Avexir D4 Blitz 3000MHz (2x) or Avexir D4 Raiden 3000Mhz C16 (2x/4x) to go with that?
Since the lower the number the better, how does Avexir D4 Raiden 2666MHz C15 (2x) stack up to Avexir D4 Raiden 3000Mhz C16 (2x/4x)?
Or even the Kingston Hyper X D4 Predator 2666MHz CL13 (4x)?

But I fear very much the problems associated with Msi B350 Tomahawk viz.

Are there better alternatives? What about Asus Prime B350-Plus
or Asrock AB350 Pro4?
