I am building my first PC and I am getting a nice 250GB SSD to go along a 1tb HDD.

I want to have the OS and the main programs on the SSD and the files on HDD but I don't know how should I do that.

I also want to know where the folder "Desktop" will be, I want it to be on HDD to not fill up the little space available in the SSD.

Thanks

Easy:
After you install the OS on the SSD (with only the SSD connected), connect the HDD
Get it all running properly.

Then, read and do these:
Win 7 & 8: http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-1834397/ssd-redirecting-static-files.html
Win 8.1 & 10: http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-2024314/windows-redirecting-folders-drives.html

Well, to begin, you'll want to initially install the SSD, along with the HDD, and format them seperately, SSD first, installing the OS on said drive. Once you've done so, you'll be able to go and change the directory for what is stored. Really, if you want to avoid a big, painful hassle, you'll install the SSD pre-build, set it up, then later install the HDD and format it separately.
