I have a 60GB corsair SSD that I have been using as a boot drive for Windows 7 for 2 or so years. The problem im having is that the drive is not recognised in the bios as a boot option.
My motherboard is an Asus Maximus V Gene and it has an "EZ mode" which is a simpler version of the bios I believe. From the ez mode I can choose to boot to the SSD but I cannot select the SSD as the default drive because it isn't an option in the advanced mode.
Have attached pictures.
Any ideas?http://

Solution
well maybe you need to update the bios from the 2012 version you have to a more recent version there is a 2016 1903 bios on the motherboard site
BIOS
have a fresh formatted USB stick download the bios from motherboard manufacturer stick the bios you just downloaded on USB stick recommend at least 2 bios's re-boot press the delete button repeatedly to get into bios select update select usb device flash it leave it to do its thing then you should be good with new bios

Sorry the second image isn't there for some reason, what I mean is I cannot select the SSD as a boot drive in the standard bios. But if I go into ez.mode I can.
