Hello Guys,

I was wondering if anyone could help me out with a little problem of mine.

Whenever I have a video open on my second monitor whether it be on youtube or twitch or even the preview of my stream, my game suddenly drops in FPS and becomes unplayable, but when I switch to a tab that doesn't have anything apart from text on it my game returns to normal?

Any help is appreciated!

My PC SPECS:
i7 4790K
GEFORCE GTX 970
16GB CORSAIR VENGENCE RAM
CORSAIR 850 WATT PSU
XPREDATOR CASE
ASUS Z97 MAXIMUS HERO VII MOTHERBOARD
H100i CORSAIR CPU WATER COOLING
SAMSUNG EVO 250GB SSD
WD BLUE 1TB
WD BLACK 1TB

Solution
Check your GPU temps using MSI Afterburner it could be throttling. Couldn't hurt to have a system monitor open on your second screen also so you can see what's happening with your PC during the stutter. I actually had to RMA my GTX 1080 for that reason. It was hitting the temp limit and throttling. luckily for me the replacement is running cool and quiet.

I'm guessing you're playing online in all of those games. When you play a youtube video you're taking up a good chunk of internet connection which is then slowing the game which is why if you open a tab that's just text it affects nothing.

Yes I'm playing them online, and that is most likely correct :) but even when I've got nothing else open apart from the game I'm still getting FPS stutters every 5-10 mins which I'm pretty sure shouldn't be happening :/

When I'm only gaming, when I stream I disbale the preview and stuff which helps a lot, but offline just doing my own thing with nothing open every couple of minutes I get a stutter which is annoying :/
