Which part of my PC is broken?

About 3 nights ago I was at my PC and my wife came to say goodnight and dropped a glass of water on my PC soaking everything. I manually turned it off right away, dismantled it and left it beside a radiator for about 30 hours (far enough away that it wouldn't burn anything). It looked dry all over so I reassembled it, put in a different psu just to be safe and turned it on, something immediately smoked for a split second and I turned it back off. I didn't get time to see what it was. I've tried restarting again and it runs with no post.
No beeps but fans running and lights are all on as normal. I tried replacing the battery and looked for any signs of anything that has burned or blown.
Still no beeps, even with just cpu. All power cables are where they are meant to be.
I am quite a noob but am about 90% sure it is the motherboard and have ordered a replacement to test. Is there anything simple I am missing or is it more likely to be the cpu or gpu?

Also, the PC now starts and restarts twice before running constantly with no post, not sure why or if this is helpful or not. Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated. I want to spend as little as possible on replacing stuff as it is only a month old and my warranty won't cover a clumsy wife :(

Solution
Hello... 'accidents will happen" ... well remove the MB battery and do a CMOs Clear for about ~2 mins... remove CMOS clear and re-install battery... try another BOOT.

Typically you need to remove the parts after a fluid spill... and shake all the main droplet out that seeped into connectors or other hidden pockets... then let AIR dry for a couple days.

It's a good chance the MB could have been damaged "smoke" ...it would be best to dis-connect any device connected to the MB... and try a BOOt with just the minimum amount devices connected to it too... CPU/RAM/cooler fan/mouse/keyboard and then add the other devices one at a time for good boots and operation testing B /
