My Alienware 17 R4 is shipping with the Intel 180GB 530 Series M.2 SATA SSD (https://goo.gl/toLCgf) I believe which would naturally be the boot drive.

I bought the Samsung EVO 850 250GB M.2 SATA SSD (https://goo.gl/vy2VIm) separately as additional SSD storage for Programs, Games etc.

Which one of the two should I keep as my primary/boot/OS drive? Which one's the better or faster drive and is the performance difference significant that I should consider migrating everything from the Intel to the Samsung? Please let me know. Thank you.

agree 100%

I would add that you may want to create a backup IMAGE of your C-drive (the Intel SSD) in case of issues in the future. The best way for you MIGHT be to get a USB HDD, and Acronis True Image 2017. You can setup a profile to backup say, once a month (and auto-delete older backups).

The USB HDD isn't normally attached but you cans create a reminder in Outlook or other place, then just plug in the HDD. If it's time for a new backup it will do it automatically.

Thanks. I do have a 1TB 7200RPM HDD in the 2.5" bay as well so I could do the auto-backup to this drive. Anyway I know I'm going to struggle using this HDD much so might as well make the most of it this way. Makes sense?
