Hello guys,

I will do a case swap soon and I would like to know if its dangerous to hold the Motherboard by the CPU Cooler/heatsink, I have an air cooler/heatsink Hyper 612 PWM( 163mm 800g). Can I damage the mobo or the CPU by holding the CPU cooler/heatsink when I do the transfer from one case to another?

Solution
Yep.
You can damage the CPU in theory but not by picking up, but by putting weight DOWN towards the motherboard.

It's not going to matter that much really to pull on the cooler as long as it isn't excessive (i.e. somethings jammed and you're trying to yank out the motherboard).

Don't forget to use an anti-static strap, or at the bare minimum touch exposed metal on the PC case when the power is both OFF and plugged into the wall. Being plugged in grounds the PC, and touching the metal grounds you thus eliminating most of your charge. THEN you should be able to safely handle the motherboard.

By "OFF" I mean the computer is shut down, then the PSU ON/OFF switch is flipped OFF.
