I plan to go 2x16GB models in dual channel mode. Rig will be used for gaming, a lot of multi-tasking, and some content creation with a few programs. I know that content creation is *much* more comfortable with faster lower latency ram as well as having 64GB or more to work with, but I'm not sure how I feel about spending 500USD or more for 4x16 3200mhz cl14 ram.
Even though G.Skill rocks the socks off of most models for speed and latency at various capacities, they are a tad expensive.

so, this in mind; should I go with the TridentZ 3200mhz cl14 2x16GB? 321.99USD
or the Ripjaws V 2400mhz cl14 2x16GB? 234.99USD

Or is there something else in the recommendations with modules from either Corsair or G. Skill?

The Ripjaws are more of an entry level grade of memory. If you have a 100 series Skylake or a 200 series Kabylake B/H series chipset then you would benefit from only going with the Ripjaws. If you actually have a Z series chipsetted board like a Z170 or a Z270 then you'd benefit from the higher spec'd ram at 3200MHz. For the former anything(kit) above 2133MHz will only mean more money spent and less potential achieved.

I'd say go for the Trident Z's because they are better binned and they also look awesome. Mind sharing your full system's specs?
