Hello, my name is corey. My wife and I are looking for a gaming PC but would also need to be able to run my Electronics Engineering programs as well as my wife's Designing programs. We do watch movies but we have converted all of our disc to digital so we would like to not have any optical drivers. We also love music and photos so it will need to have at least a 2TB or more HDD and I personally am very hard on my processor when it comes to gaming so I would like to have a 8GB GPU and as for my CPU I want a 128GB or 32GB at the least that can be overclocked and i would also like to be able to upgrade my PC parts such as ( HDD & SSD, GPU and RAM/CPU) over time. Please any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Here is what I'd buy in your shoes. That CPU offers the best bang for your buck, 16 gigs of ram should be more than enough for any gaming and all but the most intensive software, the 1070 is a great card for both gaming and other tasks, and I chose a 250gb ssd for the OS and a few games, in addition to a 3tb legacy drive for heavier storage.

I actually think I'd recommend a Ryzen system in this case. The Intel is great for gaming, but for CAD, rendering and design programs the R7-1700X is actually a better value than the 7700K currently is. If it were straight gaming, I'd take the Intel. But in this case the Ryzen is definitely something to be considered. This is slightly over budget but it's a solid build:
