My system configuration is currently a AMD A8 7600 with 16gb ram 1600 and HD 7950 gpu. However, I have not been using it for the past one year due to overseas posting. Will my a8 7600 bottleneck my gpu if I upgrade my gpu to an asus rog strix 1060 6gb ? How badly will it be? I currently only play World of tanks and elder scrolls online. Or should I go for a CPU upgrade first

That will definitely bottleneck your GPU if you get a 1060. I would recommend one of three things: If you are planning on getting a CPU within a few months of buying your GPU, go ahead and get the 1060. If you can live with buying a CPU now, knowing that it won't be a huge performance upgrade at the moment, but will pay off when you get your GPU later, then that would be another option.

The last option I would recommend, would be to try and fit in a mobo+cpu+ram+gpu upgrade right now, and get an rx 470 or GTX 1050 ti instead of the 1060. This last one I would only recommend if you just want to get the most performance out of your pc possible at the moment, without thinking about the future too much.
