Hi! This week I spent 3 full days (when I wasn't working) gathering and testing me and my group of friends mods for our own modded server. We got the server running on my friends PC and is running fantastic... For everyone but me. There are a total of 89 mods on the server and everyone says that they get 90+ fps and it is very smooth gameplay while I can rarely reach 50. We all have optifine running on our games and we all pretty much have the same settings. I looked at the amount of ram my game was actually using [around 2500mb during gameplay], and allocated 4gb, ran it and it was still leggy. Then I even assigned 4 cores to it through the GC JVM argument and it still didn't change a thing... I am running on a 64 bit system and I even made sure that my java was up to date (and running 64 bit) and my friend who gets 140 fps consistently on the server said that he uses the same java version as me. I also updated my GPU drivers today and there was no difference.
Here are my specs: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/H_Finner/saved/#view=ZyZ7P6
The thing is, I have one of the better computers in my group and I am getting worse gameplay than my friend with lower end i5 with a 780...
I know there isn't alot of info and this seems very vague but if you need anymore information I am here and ready to comply!!! Thanks!

OK! I have figured it out!!!! There was an animation setting called 'Terrain Animated' and once I turned it off, my game went to BUTTER SMOOTH game play. If anyone has this related problem, go to particles and try to turn all off and sift through all the options to see what it is. Thanks for all the help too guys!

are you playing in a local network? if not it could be your isp, network, router settings ports and network related stuff.

No the server is port forwarded on my friends computer in CO while I'm in TX and we even have someone from Arizona playing. My download is 105 mbps down and 102 up.
I also have a response time of 3ms

So its not related to the network at all. have you checked cpu % usage while playing, maybe you have a background app chewing the cpu.
