Hello everyone! I got a few questions for you. I want to buy a new PSU and upgrade my GPU. I got a few psus in mind so i'm asking you which one is better. Also if you have something way better in mind i would really appreciate if ypu guys will tell me but has to be in the same budget.

Note: I live in Romania so the prices are way higher but i will convert them in US dollars

Ok so here are the prices(these PSUs are going to combo with either a RX580 or a GTX 1060.)

Corsair CXM 650W(the grey label)-86$
Seasonic S2II 620W-80$
EVGA Nex 600w B1- 82$

If you guys have other suggestions in the same budget that'll be great.

Also, now the main question. RX 580 or Gtx 1060?

Solution
They are pretty close. Either is better for an individual depending on some variables i'll list below. What games you play is also important when choosing.

GTX 1060 6GB:

- Lower Power Usage
- Generally Lower Temps (Better cooled)
- Better Performance in most Nvidia GameWorks titles, DirectX 11 and OpenGL games.
- Excellent Overclocker (If that interests you)
- CUDA might be something you benefit from if you work on any platforms that are optimised it.

RX 580 8GB:

- Slightly cheaper (Most the time)
- 2GB of more VRAM
- Better Performance in most AMD Gaming Evolved titles, DirectX 12 and Vulkan games
- CrossFire (Mulit-GPU) compatible (The GTX 1060 cannot SLI)
- Typically the...

I would go with the SeaSonic PSU. Or the https://pcpartpicker.com/product/JYyFf7/evga-power-supply-110b20750vr

All are more than enough for those gpus, personally I would go with the Seasonic one, but can also combine an other psu? like the seasonic 520w edition? it might save some bucks and is still more than enough.

Personally I would go with the rx580. :)

- Typically the stronger card overall on an average of ~5-8%
- Can be paired with a FreeSync monitor for relatively cheap.

To summarise, the RX 580 8GB often comes ahead in most games today but with higher power usage + temps at that. There are other things on the RX 580 that would indicate it to be better card in the long run due to the extra VRAM, better long-term driver support, better performance in newer APIs (Vulkan and DX12) and of course the ability to add another RX 580 in CrossFire (you might see one cheap). But of course you might be someone big on power efficiency, overclocking or like having a quieter/cooler card which the GTX 1060 does better at. Just go for whichever card has features that appeal more to you and your build.

If you want to read up more for yourself, here are 2 in-depth reviews from reliable sources (Trusted Reviews + Digital Foundry):

As for the Power Supply, i'd go with either the SeaSonic or Corsair CXM from that list, i would say the SeaSonic is the better Power Supply in terms of reliability/quality of parts but the CXM is pretty good too and i'll need to check some reviews on them (the new ones). But you do get a slightly higher wattage in the long run. Either will be great. Hope this helps :)

The S12ii and CX650M are both better than the NEX.

Out of those two the CX650M is better. Based on professional reviews the Corsair unit has better overall performance, especially during crossload testing. It has semi modularity for easier/cleaner build. It is not group regulated unlike the S12ii, more wattage on the 12v rail (74w more), and over 5 years newer. The only real pro the Seasonic has is possibly the caps they use.

For the GPU choice I recommend reading CRO5513Y's comment.
