So opened up disk management to find this:

Disk 0
Basic 232.88GB Online

|System Reserved (A: ) 500 MB NTFS Healthy (System, Active, Primary Partition)|232.40 GB Unallocated

Disk 1
Basic 931.51 GB Online

|(C: ) 931.51 GB NTFS Healthy (Boot, Page File, Crash Dump, Primary Partition).

I have an 850 EVO 250 GB SSD as well as a WD Blue 1 T HDD. Can you guys let this nooby goose know if I've muddled up the partitions, and why the unallocated blackhole?

well, it looks like you installed windows onto disk 1 and its put the boot directory on the fastest drive it could find, the ssd. the 232gb unallocated is where i suspect you actually wanted windows to be?

what you should have done is remove hdd from PC and only have ssd in PC so it doesn't have a choice. then once its installed, add the hdd again. might want to wipe hdd before you put it back in.
