Hi Guys,

Lately I've been having some trouble with my WD Passport Ultra. A little while ago it started dropping out occasionally while using the usb3 port on my laptop (Windows). The usb2 works fine till this day. Lately however, I can't use the drive at all with usb3. It seems to be connected since a white light is glowing, but it's not recognized by my computer. Using forums, I've found that many more seem to have this problem and most people recommend a driver/firmware rollback. The only problem is that I have no idea where to find older drivers, since only the newest ones are provided on the WD website and I can't seem to find them anywhere else. I've tried deleting drivers completely, different usb3 ports, and with and without hub. Would anyone have a cure for this?

Many thanks!

Sorry i cannot provide an answer, but I have had a very similar problem with my last drive! I tried everything to fix it. In the end, it would not accept anything being written TO it, so i started to panic slightly (as i am a mobile DJ) I had in excess of 37,000 tracks on this drive! So i took the plunge and just bought a new one as my old one was well out of warranty. Been fine so far (after copying all my music over, which it let me do!)

Good luck though, hope you may find the answer!

Best regards, K.
