My cpu processor is Core 2 duo E7500 2.93ghz .
I visited local shop for graphic card. He said me that my motherboard is basic. Though if graphic card is inserted, there will be low performance.
Do performance really depend on motherboard? or can i experiment buying graphic card nvidia GT 710 graphic card from amazon as my mother board is compatible with graphic cards?

Solution
Can't tell anything without knowing what your motherboard is - whether it will allow graphic card and what type. But performance depends on CPU/ram not motherboard. And your CPU is outdated, so it would limit performance of any new graphic card. However, assuming your motherboard could use it, cards like gtx 660 - 750 should work with your CPU quite well.
gt 710 however is not a card suitable for any kind of gaming.
