Can anyone help me?

I am building a budget gaming PC on Kaby Lake that I can upgrade in the future.
My current plan on hardware is
MOBO - ASUS PRIME B250M-K
CPU - Intel Pentium G4560

I have a bit of a problem with choosing my RAM, this board only has 2xDIMM slots which I am fine with but I am unsure on what configuration of 8GB RAM will result in the best option.

Do I run 2x4GB kit @ DDR4 2400MHz or 1x8GB kit and leave 1xDIMM slot for the future ? I have heard that using a motherboard in duel band memory mode will result in better performance compared to using just 1 DIMM slot.

The RAM I am unsure of getting comes down to :
Crucial Ballistix Sport LT DDR4 2400MHz

Will this RAM perform well with the G4560 and a future Kaby Lake i5 and sould I go with 1x8GB kit and leave 1 slot for another 8GB in the future or just go with 2x4GB kit ?

Any help would be great! :D

Thanks Drew

With ram upgrades you should always upgrade as a pair/kit to avoid incompatibility or timings issues. In fact each stick of ram bought separately effectively come of varying assembly lines. When compared to a kit that has been strictly monitored and binned with better IC's they are a better option when you run them in dual/quad channel configurations.

Any DDR4 memory so long as it's at 2133MHz will operate on your system no problems. Just be careful though getting higher frequency'd ram isn't going to be a net worth since your chipset effectively allows the ram to run at 2133MHz. If you want anything higher then you're going to need a Z270 chipset and an unlocked K suffix processor = more expenses.

A 2x4GB kit would be a good prospect since you can either hold onto it for another build or sell it off (as a kit).

Thanks for the help, you mentioning that 2133Mhz will operate on my system with no issues, I have seen quite a lot of people running 2400MHz Ram with the G4560 ?
