New build issues - ASUS motherboard no POST

I have a new build that I am working on that I need some help trouble shooting.

Here are the components that I have so far (description pasted from amazon :D)

Intel Core i7 6700K 4.00 GHz Unlocked Quad Core Skylake Desktop Processor, Socket LGA 1151

EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2, 80+ GOLD 750W, Fully Modular, EVGA ECO Mode, 10 Year Warranty, Includes FREE Power On Self Tester Power Supply 220-G2-0750-XR

Corsair Hydro Series H100i v2 Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler, Black

Corsair LPX 32GB (16x2) DRAM 3000MHz C15 Memory Kit for DDR4 Systems

ASUS TUF Z270 Mark 1 LGA1151 DDR4 DP HDMI M.2 USB 3.1 Z270 ATX Motherboard

The problem that I am having is that the CPU light on the mobo flashes red once and then nothing. The machine won't go into POST. I initially thought it was the mobo because I found a bent pin and exchanged for a new one, but have the same issue with the replacement (no bent pins this time). All of the fans spin and the cooler lights up. On the mobo the lights for power and RAM light up and stay lit successfully.

Here are things I have tried:
- trying only one piece of RAM
- trying alternate RAM slots
- reseating RAM repeatedly
- reseating CPU
- reset CMOS via jumper
- if I don't plug the CPU in at all I get a solid LED at the 8-pin power connection so I think the power supply is working

Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Solution
You are misunderstanding your MB LEDs Cherron.

The LEDs that stay lit are an error indication. Post will not continue and LED will stay lit till the error is rectified. (refer to your MB manual page 1-13 for corresponding LEDs)
There are four LEDs for CPU_LED (red flash then goes out indicates OK), DRAM_LED (flashes yellow and if remains lit then a problem with RAM), VGA_LED (flashes white and if remains lit then problem with your GPU, Boot_Device_LED flashes yellow green and remains lit if fault with storage device. HDD or SSD.
Also you should update Bios to version 0906 for better system stability and to address new DDR4 RAM.

That is helpful! It's confusing because PCpartpicker says my RAM should be compatible with my MOBO but I definitely will try different RAM. I updated the BIOS via flashback but it didn't seem to help (this particular issue at least).

Thanks again for your help. Your advice absolutely helped point me toward a solution and I got my machine up and running.

After realizing that I was misunderstaning the LED lights I also tried these three things:
1. Reset CMOS
2. Loosened mobo screws
3. Used memOK to boot in BIOS and find settings that worked for my RAM

Good luck to anyone with future similar issues and thanks again!
