For awhile I've no problem playing my games like Counter Strike-Global Offensive with only 20-35 ping. Now all of sudden out of the random its like my adapter told me to get away and doesn't like me, because I'm now getting 100-300 ping non-stop. Sometimes I get weird spikes where I will get about 30mbps but those only last about 10min. I've made sure my network adapter is up to date as well as my PC in whole. I thought I could fix the problem but nothing is working. I've tried using threads similar to this on but nothing is working and I'm coming here for help. My WiFi Adapter is called Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260. I have no idea what to do now. I thought maybe it was the game but it isn't as I have tried everything. As well as just getting to this site took about 2-3 minutes of loading. I apologize if this is not in the right category. Please help ASAP. I will provide any information needed to help further improve my chances of solving this problem.

While it's not a fix for the specific problem you're dealing with this adapter, you might want to look at alternatives to wifi. For gaming it's never the best option and when going between floors you're never getting the best signal. Since you likely cant run Cat5/6 down from the router, I'd seriously recommend looking at Ethernet over powerline adapter. Two kits I'd recommend are

TP-Link TL-PA9020P KIT

Yes I have tried to reset the router that didn't seem to work. And I will try the wired connection and see how that turns out. I will respond back to let you know if the wired connection proves anything wrong

I have limited experience with this adapter, but one thing I found is it is INCREDIBLY picky about antenna placement. If you're using this in a desktop with an external antenna, have you changed the placement of the antenna when this issue popped up?

I have always kept it in the same spot until a little while ago but in both spots it did not matter it just kept giving a super low internet speed. I am in fact directly below the room with the modem.
