I built this PC almost 8 months ago and it ran fine although I ran into the same problem today as I had once before. The error code 55 would show on the top right corner of the motherboard which was related to the ram. So I put 1 stick of ram in at a time and reboot until I got to all four ram sticks then the error code would appear again so I reset the bios and it worked just like last time . The monitor finally detected a signal and I was able to enter the bios but this time around my m.2 ssd (boot devise) is not visible in the bios. I removed my hdd and it still won't detect the ssd and the error code 99 stays on and I can't boot with xmp selected in the bios. I tried removing all USB devices and the boot device led stayed orange. I'm all out of ideas, please help!!

Assuming https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/MAXIMUS-VIII-HERO/
with the user manual located at http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1151/MAXIMUS_VIII_HERO/E10343_MAXIMUS_VIII_HERO_UM_WEB.pdf?_ga=2.13649726.800008740.1494056233-471366222.1493040242

Qcode 99 reports a Super I/O initialization problem

and after looking at various board seems it could mean anything.

common themes to solve this issue regarding making cpu fan is properly connected, Ram compatibility, keyboard and mouse, switching from HDMI to DVI on the monitor. seem a lot of bios updates related message solving the issue as well.

It truly seems rather random, and would point at the motherboard being a problem

Can you tell me the make and model of the ram you are using please?
Can you provide me with the Bios revision you have installed on your computer?
