I'm on a laptop, with a standard (atheros qcnfa222) wi-fi card. I have a 100 Mbps optic fiber internet (Speedtest.net by Ookla - 3 ms 95 /98 Mbps, up to 11 Mb/s download). I'm using dualband router and am connected to the 5 ghz wi fi channel. CMD ping google.com returns 8 ms.

But in CS:GO I usually have 40-50 ms (I'ts stable though).

CS:GO is on default rates. Nothing else is connected to internet and etc.

Is this OK? Shouldn't such an internet have 10 ms or something similar?

My friend has an internet that barely gets 1,5 mb/s download and has 15 ms on cs:go..

The ping depends on your location relatively to the server.
So if you're for example 200km away from the server you'll get a worse ping than a friend who's only 2km away from there server

Also it depends on the routing of the ISP and which server they use to connect you to the www

However 40-50ms aren't exactly bad and are just fine
