My Ryzen 1700 idling at 44C and maxing 60C with hitman 2016. My ambient temp is 31. Does my CPU runs hot ?
Everything is running stock settings

Solution
Use AIDA64 to get a true reading of temps, my 1700x O/C to 4GHz reads around 75c @ 100% in prime with all cores loaded according to most temp software, even AMD's own. Yet AIDA takes in to acocunt the way AMD offsets temps by 20c, verified using an external temp. probe. Cooled by a big boy Noctua :D

well guess what, just opening the side case panel did put the idle temp down to 38C which is pretty fine imo considering my high ambient temp, does anyone else think otherwise ?

then its a case ventilation issue. have u got good airflow in ur case? how many fans u got and is the air flow from ur fans obstructing each other?

I have BitFenix Comrade ATX MidTower case, and totaly of 4 fans (case, cpu, gpu, psu) and the airflow seems okay to me.

I have a full tower ATX case for my AMD Ryzen 7 1700 at 3.6GHz and it runs at 26c with a Thermaltake Water 3 three fan liquid cooler so three fans in front bringing air in toward the radiator one 14mm fan on the back blowing air out, 2 140mm fans on top blowing air out, two fans in the power supply and one fan on the video card. I think I'm doing pretty good. I'm thinking of overclocking to 3.8 or 4.0GHz but I don't know what that would do to the heat. You do want a lot of good air flow in your computer case especially in a mid tower.
