My microphone on my XBOX stereo headset works fine on my ps4/mac. When I plug it into my PC, it shows green bars beside it but nothing i say goes through. For example in Garrys Mod/CSGO i hold down T, it shows my name at the top left that symbolizes im speaking, but nothing goes through. Ive tried both microphone ports on my pc no luck. Ive tried setting up the microphone but when i read the phrase it doesnt pick it up. Plz help!

Can you please specify the make and model of your headset/microphone? Does the microphone work on your smartphone(just curious)? If so then the pins on the microphone are appropriate for the console but not for your desktop.

It'd also be a good idea to pass on your system's specs. Make sure your motherboard BIOS is up to date while the audio drivers are up to date as well.

There's your problem. Desktop computers usually have an audio out port that uses the plug on the left, and then have a separate connection for the mic; your Apple earbuds only have one plug, the one on the far right.

I'm honestly not sure why Windows is showing that it's receiving input from a microphone; are you sure you don't have a separate one plugged in but forgotten somewhere?

Yeah apple earbuds will not work on windows 10, the only solutions would be getting a mic splitter which would then use your mic and audio inputs, or by purchasing a separate microphone (which I did)
