Do I need a new PSU or can I use an adapter?

Hi, I am a bit confused so some help would be really good.
I am using the Antec VP Series VPA500P 500W with a RX480 Gigabyte 4GB graphics card.
My problem is that the graphics card needs an 8 pin PCE-I however the PSU comes with a 6 pin. I also have a 2x4 pin but it states that it's for the CPU. The CPU only needs 2x2 so I split the 2x4 up. So do I need an adapter for the 6 pin to make it 8 pin or is it too risky for the graphics card.
Sorry for my bad English
Thank you

Don't do that. There are adapters for molex connectors, and SATA connectors, but don't use the CPU connectors.

I don't recommend using adapters at all. Your power supply wasn't designed to power a card like this. I wouldn't spend the money on a nice card like that and try to use some inferior method to power it. If possible, return the card and choose a card that requires the 6 pin connector that you have OR upgrade your power supply.

If you have 2 x 6-pin connectors coming from your PSU, then it is okay to connect BOTH of those into an 8-pin adapter...

...but if you have only 1 x 6-pin, don't do it.

(You can find a decent PSU with an 8-pin PCIe connector for around ~45€.)
