Guys,
I accidentally bought a 1333mhz ram for my 1066/800 mobo and when I place it nothing displays. When I put the old one everything is ok. Is there an way to make use of it cause I can't get it replaced from the store.. I didn't know from the beginning that my mobo supports max 1066mhz...

(I don't trust pcpartpicker anymore)

1| Can you please state your full system's specs? List them like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:

2| Have you made sure your motherboard BIOS is up to date?

3| Can you lease pass on a link to the ram you purchased? It'd be a good idea to pass on an image of your old rams as well.

4| Are you trying to mix and match rams to get a cumulative ram capacity?

5| In essence DDR3-1333MHz rams should downclock to 1066MHz by the BIOS provided you're not hitting an limitation by the BIOS itself or that the stick of ram is of lower voltage.

1| CPU: Pentium e5700
Motherboard: P5G41T-M LX2/GB/LPT
Ram: Kingstone 2gb 800MHz (the one I want to replace)
HDD: WB 500Gb
GPU: a basic one
OS: Windows 10 64bit

2| yes, my bios is up to date

3| https://www.amazon.com/Kingston-HyperX-Fury-1333MHz-DDR3/dp/B00J8E8ZK6

(I don't know how to upload a photo from my phone here..) but it's an 2gb Kingston 800MHz 1.5V

4| No, I'm not trying to do that.
I've tried:
• every ram slot
• removed/replaced the CMOS battery

5| I don't actually know how to downclock the ram manually and the previous ram stick required the same voltage as the new ram..

Thanks in advance for your time and effort!
