I've just received an old Dell Precision 490 and I want to give it a new life but I don't know which components are worth to upgrade. It comes with a single Intel Xeon 5130 2.00GHz, 4GB DDR2 RAMs and a NVIDIA Quadro FX and 4600. Also it has a regular HDD, which I plan to switch to an SSD.

I've seen this video where the graphics card is upgraded to a GTX 950 but I don't know if a GTX 1050Ti will work too, or if there is any better option:

Also I plan to add more RAM (same model as the stock) and I think the CPU needs to be upgraded to a 4 core one like a XEON X5365, but I don't know if it is worth to buy two of them and a heatsink (the motherboard has two CPU sockets) because games probably will use only one CPU.

Any ideas / recommendations for setting up the best Precision 490 possible? Thanks!

Solution
That computer will be slower than most modern builds. That said, the 1050 Ti will work just fine.

Regarding the CPU upgrade, if you upgrade one, you have to upgrade both in a dual processor system. Modern games are beginning to use more than 4 cores. On a dual processor system, software doesn't see two CPUs. It sees 8 cores (if there are two 4-core CPUs). It doesn't distinguish between cores on CPU A and cores on CPU B.

I personally wouldn't recommend using that computer for gaming. It's better suited to server duty these days.

That one will probably drive you crazy. That being said 4 core MB swaps can be cheap. The FBDIMMs are very strange and power hungry (but cheap). The FBDIMMs and dual CPU setup [robably required some proprietary MB connectors. Aftermarket PSUs might not exist. If it has the 150mmx50mm AFC1512DG fan keep it!
T3500 is a much better place to start.
