Is Prime95 supposed to act like this?

I just ran a thermal test in Prime95 version 26.6 using small FFT's.
During the first 5 minutes it all looked good, higher than average thermals as expected (hovered around 80C, which is greyzone but acceptable).
Then I thought I was going to do other stuff in the meantime while it ran. I come back 20 minutes later, and it turns out after roughly 10 minutes into the test the temps suddenly blasted up to 87-93C and stayed there constantly until I stopped the thermal test.
The fans we're still running max speed like before.

Is this normal?

Yes, you will find it pretty much sits at those higher temps continuously, sometimes a couple of degrees higher, sometimes a couple of degree's lower this is due to some of the tests being more CPU intensive and other tests being more memory intensive.

Yes that is normal, its starts off gently and then throws some proper heavy tests at your CPU, I take it you have an Intel i7
