Asus prime X370-pro vs Asrock Fatal1ty X370 K4 (memory QVL)

Hello!

Which board would you choose? Asrock seems slightly better.

However, when going through it's memory QVL, I've noticed that all DDR4 modules rated at 3000MHz are at the moment unavailable for purchase in Croatia.

On the the other side, for the Prime-Pro I can buy DDR4 rated at that speed in the same shop as the motherboard.

I will be pairing this with the Ryzen 1700X and Gtx 1080ti. Since I'm not an expert, asking here. Which board is better?

I'm as ASRock guy personally. I've built on two X370 Pro Gaming boards already and love the feature sets. As long as you're running 2 DIMMs, achieving 3000 shouldn't be a problem on the ASRock board. I'd read reviews around the google to try to verify.

It's really tough. Same price, I like Asrock better because of 12 phases vs 10 from Asus, has also slightly better sound.

However, Asus board has at the moment more memory support at 3000+mhz (stable) due to BIOS updates. Ryzen loves fast RAM. I can get Corsair Vengeance LPX, 2x8GB; MU16GX4M2C3000C15 - which is on the memory QVL list for the Asus board, but not on asrock one...

Everywhere I've read, that Asrock board seems like a best entry level x370 model out there, and it's bigger sister - Taichi as one of the best performes overall on Ryzen.

The problem is that Asrock Gaming k4 supports DDR4 up to only 2933MHz, while for the Asus model - it supports up to 3200MHz. I can get 3200MHz ram for the same price. (Both are hynix dies) Ryzen has significant gains in few areas with faster RAM speeds. The sacrifice would be 2 power phases for the CPU and less good sound I think.

EDIT: From what I've read is that at the moment - Ryzen loves Samsung-B die RAM. What I've also read is that in the near future, it should work well on all dies, no matter the manufacturer (according to AMD).

Ahhhh, I'm lost.
