Hey all,
A mate of mine and I are transforming a room in his house into a 'LAN' room, where we have 2+ PC's hooked up 24/7 to play games with each other, whenever, on the same network. (similar to what pro's do at cs go LAN tournaments)
We're planning of having both PC's hooked up to a network switch, via ethernet, in the 'LAN' room, and then the network switch connected to the router (some how).
Our problem is, the room is upstairs on the opposite side of the house, upstairs, so it is both impractical and too expensive to have 1 Ethernet wire running the distance.
So, we were wondering, crazy idea, if we can plug the network switch into an extender (like this one) and then both PC's into the network switch? Would this still work?
Please don't scold me if i have the complete wrong idea for even thinking of using a network switch, i know very little/nothing about networking, so this is all done by my own minimal research conducted 10 minutes prior to asking this question. If this is the case, and i have the COMPLETE wrong idea, please tell me a viable solution.
Cheers all,
Luke
