Hello everyone,

I have a problem. When I insert both ram sticks at the same time, the computer won't start. But when I put them separately it works fine. There are 4 slots, 2 gold and 2 black and I've tried every combination possible. Any answers?

Specs:
Intel Core 17-2600k
CPU 3.40GHz
ram - RipJaws GSkill 4GB
x64

Solution
Presumably the two 4 GB modules are not from a dual channel kit? If so, then this is a common issue where individual modules may not work together (even for modules with the same part number).

Could try raising DRAM Voltage in BIOS by 0.05 V. Don't exceed 1.65 V

If not successful then -

1) Get a system compatible 2 x 4 GB dual channel kit to replace the existing memory. The existing memory could be kept as backup or sold. The advantage of the dual channel kit is that the modules within the kit are guaranteed to be compatible with each other.

2) Try another single 4 GB module until a compatible combination is found. Disadvantage is that it might take several tries until a compatible combination is found. And it could take a while and...
