hey guys,

So yesterday i was trying to install windows 10 and this error msg came to me, so i had to format the boot hdd to GPT (not knowing whats the difference) to be able to install it.
Is that something good or bad as i dont know what are the differences between MBR and GPT.

Also please recommend me a software i can use to test my new boot hdd as i think its acting funny.

I wish that message was in English - I mean, it is but said in a way that is easier to understand.

I am guessing you had win 7 on drive before? It uses MBR partition scherme, Win 10 uses GPT and because you are installing win 10 it wants you to format the drive as GPT.

All that wants you to do is delete all the partitions on the hdd and click next

MBR or Master Boot Record is the way all hard drives have been formatted since 1982 and has limitations that when it was started seemed so far into future that no one needed to worry about them. One of those is max hdd size is 2tb. All versions of windows until Win 8 used this.

GPT or GUID Partition Table is made to fix many of the problems associated with MBR and is used in Win 8 & 10...

If you want to test drive, use the free version of http://www.hdtune.com/ or http://crystalmark.info/software/CrystalDiskMark/index-e.html
