R9 290x causing problem

I recently got a r8 290x using on asus 2nd gen mobo with i5 2500 1333mhz 8 gb ram and 256gb ssd with 2 tb hdd

After r9 my pc wont start show black screen only. I have to power off pc and restart it. Then its shows loading windows and black screen again. After 3 to 4 restart my pc bootsup and if i restart my pc same problem occurs

Using dell xps 630i powersupply with 1 6 to 8 pin powerconnector for card

Plzz help

Could be power supply issue, could be motherboard compatibility issue, could be a bad card. I would start with a BIOS update if there is a newer one available, test the card in another system with a good power supply or try another good power supply in your system.

Most probably weak PSU. Buy 80+ grade 700+W, avoid value even good ones. I had such problem occurred from time to time along with desktop artifacts and game crashes. Once I replaced 700W value PSU with 80+ grade one everything seems good.

Can anyone explain me why downclocked R9 290x (Core 940 VRAM 1200) delivers more fluid less stuttering gameplay with Arma 3?

BTW Before refreshing thermal paste downclocking led to black screen and artifacts while was hotter by 10C.
