Hey guys wanna ask you for some advice with my computer

CPU: amd fx 6200
MOBO Asrock 970 extreme3
GPU: GTX 760 (1440p/900p monitor)
RAM: 8gigs 1330 mhz
PSU: Corsair vs550
CASE: Cheap ass typical case which included a psu
MEMORY: 120gb ssd + 500gb hard drive

For over a year now I’ve had many problems with my computer and have been able to “fix” (they appeared to be fixed) most of them but one has been the same. Games just feel choppy even at 60 fps. Also I don’t get the performance I feel I should be getting, for example in borderlands pre sequal I get 20 fps in fights. Also programs don’t respond at least twice a day. My mobo, cpu and ram are 5 years old and Ive been running my cpu very hot (75 degrees load) for the past 3 years so I’m worried it could be damaged but don’t know for sure. Would buying a new motherboard, processor and case (for better airflow and lower temps) fix these issues which I can’t seem to fix/even pin down to one thing?

Solution
FX chips are slow.
Likely a stronger cpu would help.
Here is a test for you:

Run YOUR games, but lower your resolution and eye candy.
If your FPS increases, it indicates that your cpu is strong enough to drive a better graphics configuration.
If your FPS stays the same, you are likely more cpu limited.

Something like a G4620 would not be expensive. Yes, you will need a new mobo and ram also.
It is not a hot chip so even a bad case should do.
Exactly what is the make/model of your case?

Hey man thanks for the response
The G4620 is literally in my amazon basket, so yeah I was thinking of getting that, I did the test you suggested and my fps was basically the same after lowering the resolution and eye candy so the cpu must be the issue. Would buying new ram be necessary? Also would i need a new copy of windows or would it be fine transferring my ssd and hd over. I don't the know the specific case brand or model but its pretty shit, it has one fan thats broken so it just sits there.

Depending on your country, it may be worth considering buying used, as this could result in you being able to perhaps even get an i5, and with an older CPU your ram would not need to be upgraded! Otherwise a hyperthreaded pentium like the G4620 might be worth your while. (Although also keep in mind that a used older processor will use more power, and so might warrant a PSU upgrade.)
